Host a Gathering For Good

Ninety minutes. Your living room. Real change. A Gathering For Good is a relaxed evening where you invite people you already know, we share what this work does, and everyone leaves with a way to help. That's the whole thing.
An actual Gathering For Good.

What Is a Gathering For Good?

Not a fundraiser. A conversation that happens to include one. Forget galas, auctions, and awkward table-round pledging. A Gathering For Good is closer to having people over - which is exactly what it is.
You invite a group you already know into your home. People arrive, have a drink, catch up. At some point someone from our team speaks for about twenty minutes about the work: who we serve, what trauma healing actually changes, and what it costs when someone can't access it.
Then we make one clear invitation to help. Nobody is cornered, nobody is asked to speak in front of the room, and nobody is chased afterward.
  • About 90 minutes, start to finish
  • 10 to 20 guests is ideal, though we've done smaller and larger
  • Your home, or anywhere comfortable you have access to
  • No fundraising experience required, genuinely

How to Host a Gathering For Good

Four steps, and we do most of them. Your job is the invitation list and the room. We handle the rest.

1 · Say yes

Tell us you're interested. We'll have a short call about dates, numbers, and what you're comfortable with.

2 · Invite your people

You send the invitations to friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues. We'll give you wording if you want it. Ten to twenty people is the sweet spot.

3 · We show up

Someone from our team comes to you and shares the mission for about twenty minutes. You provide the space and the snacks.

4 · People respond

We make one clear, unpushy invitation to give or get involved. Then it goes back to being an evening with your friends.

What you provide

  • A comfortable space, usually your living room
  • An invitation list of people who know and trust you
  • Simple refreshments; nothing elaborate
  • A warm welcome at the door

What we provide

  • A speaker from our team who knows the work first-hand
  • Invitation wording and a simple planning checklist
  • Printed materials and a straightforward way for guests to give
  • All follow-up, so you never have to chase your own friends

The part hosts worry about

Almost everyone asks the same question: “will my friends feel ambushed?” It's the right instinct, and it's why we run these the way we do. Guests are told in the invitation what the evening includes. Nobody is put on the spot, no one has to announce an amount, and there's no follow-up unless a guest asks for it. If it ever felt like a pressure sell, you wouldn't host a second one - and hosts routinely do.

People don't give because of a brochure. They give because someone they trust cared enough to ask.

One evening in one living room routinely funds months of therapy for someone who had given up on affording it. That's a remarkable return on a Tuesday night.
