Even if you block it out for a while, eventually it touches something.
Most people picture nightmares and flashbacks when they think about trauma. But PTSD is only one way sexual trauma shows up. Often it's quieter: chronic pain, anxiety and irritability, unhappy relationships, sleep that never quite comes.
The longer you hold it in, the harder it can feel to let it out. We can help you remember who you are and feel strong again — and we can help you fit it into your life.
The less obvious signs
Feeling alone, even with people who love you
Hating your body
Picking the wrong partners, one after another
Never feeling good enough
Triggers that show up in your body before your brain catches up — a racing heart, a stomach drop, a sudden freeze
You are not broken. Your body learned to protect you. Now it can learn that it's safe.
How we work
Choice and pacing, always.
This is one of our core specialties, and our therapists have a combined 70+ years of experience handling it with expertise and care.
You stay in control
You decide what to share and when. We never push for detail, and EMDR doesn't need it to work.
Safety first, depth later
We build safety and skills before any memory work — and only go deeper when you're ready.
Trust, rebuilt
Attachment-focused care helps you move from defending against everyone to warding off harm while welcoming good support.
Sexual wellness after trauma
Boundaries, desire, and communication that honor your values and your comfort.
What changes
Texans deserve expert counseling.
What healing fully looks like:
01
Take back control
Your history stops steering today.
02
Sleep soundly
Your body finally believes you're safe.
03
Feel confident
In your decisions, your voice, your boundaries.
04
Feel whole
At home in your own body again.
05
Find calm
Fewer alarms; a steadier baseline.
06
Connect
Closeness that feels chosen, not dangerous.
How treatment works
Feel, heal, thrive.
Your pace, start to finish.
1
Feel
Grounding and body-calming skills so you're in control before anything else. You'll learn how to signal us to slow down or stop.
2
Heal
EMDR for root-level relief — helping the body release what it has been holding so the past stops steering the present.
3
Thrive
Boundaries, relationships, and a sense of self rebuilt around what you now believe: that you were never broken.

No. We start with safety and skills. EMDR doesn't require graphic detail to work — we follow your pace, and you decide what to share and when.
Symptoms often surface years later — during a big change, a new relationship, or when your child reaches the age you were. It still responds to treatment.
You don't need a label to deserve help. If an experience left you anxious, ashamed, or on guard, that's enough to start.
Yes. Sexual trauma affects relationships, and we work with couples and partners when that's helpful — always on your terms.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an eight-phase, research-backed therapy that helps your brain file painful experiences so they stop popping up uninvited. Simple traumas can resolve in a few sessions; complex histories take longer. It's powerful, and it isn't magic — your therapist tailors it to you.
No. You're in full control the whole time — we'll even teach you how to signal us to stop.
You won't white-knuckle through your worst memories. Before any memory work you learn to shift into calm fast and build “resources” to turn the intensity down. That preparation phase can be long if your history is complex — and it's the part most therapists skip.
We're self-pay and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Our nonprofit sliding scale is on the Rates page.

I've had an amazing experience using EMDR therapy to address my childhood trauma. It's incredible how something so simple like eye movements can make such a huge difference on how I feel about my most challenging memories!
We're a nonprofit, so cost shouldn't be the reason you wait. Sliding-scale spots with licensed clinicians and supervised residents are part of how we work.
