You're snappy with the people you love, racing through the day with a tight chest, then crashing with guilt. Panic shows up out of nowhere. You keep it together at work or for your family, but inside you feel like you're failing them.
You want calm — not just for you, but because your partner, kids, clients, or team need you well.
What people tell us on the first call
“I can't turn my brain off at night.”
“I snap at my kids and then feel terrible.”
“Panic hits out of nowhere.”
“I'm fine at work. I fall apart at home.”
“I've tried therapy. It didn't stick.”
Why we're different
Three things that make us unique for anxiety.
We don't just “do” trauma. We specialize in it — and anxiety after hard experiences is where that shows.
True trauma specialists
Every clinician is trained in trauma-focused approaches including EMDR, and experienced with complex trauma, dissociation, and sexual trauma. If your story has felt like too much before, we get it.
Creative, personalized care
Weekly counseling or an EMDR intensive — in office, at home, or online. A real person helps you find your best-fit therapist, and your plan evolves as we learn what works.
Real change that changes everything
Anxiety tramples into your home, your work, your friendships. We help you break stuck patterns and build calmer mornings, kinder evenings, warmer connections.
What treatment looks like
Relief first. Then the roots.
What the work looks like, at your pace:
1
Relief first
Sleep sorted and a panic first-aid kit. Small wins at home in the first few weeks.
2
Build awareness
Learn your triggers and what past experiences might be driving the anxiety.
3
Deep work
When you're ready, EMDR reprocessing — weekly or intensive — and a plan that really shifts things.
4
Real-life support
Scripts for boundaries and tough conversations; repair at home and work where it's needed.
5
Personalized Treatment
Choice and pacing. You stay in control; we build safety first and only go deeper when you're ready.
6
What changes
You sleep, think clearly, stop snapping. Your body finally believes “I'm safe.”
Anxiety isn't just who you are.
It's how your nervous system learned to survive — and it can learn a safer default.
Our proven process
Feel, heal, thrive.
Starting therapy is scary. So first, we make it safe.
1
Feel
Learn what makes you tick plus body-calming skills that work — grounding, breath, better sleep — so panic gets manageable from the start.
2
Heal
Process what's underneath with EMDR, parts work, and attachment-focused work, at your pace. We walk you through every option first.
3
Thrive
Live out the positive things you now believe about yourself, and make sure the changes stick in real life.
Anxiety & EMDR questions

Many clients notice small wins in the first few weeks — sleep, panic first aid — even with complex trauma. Deeper relief builds as we process root causes with EMDR, weekly or intensive.
It's more likely how your nervous system learned to survive. With trauma-informed care, your system can learn a safer default.
No. We start with safety and skills. EMDR doesn't require graphic detail to work — we follow your pace.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an eight-phase, research-backed therapy that helps your brain file painful experiences so they stop popping up uninvited. Simple traumas can resolve in a few sessions; complex histories take longer. It's powerful, and it isn't magic — your therapist tailors it to you.
No. You're in full control the whole time — we'll even teach you how to signal us to stop.
You won't white-knuckle through your worst memories. Before any memory work you learn to shift into calm fast and build “resources” to turn the intensity down. That preparation phase can be long if your history is complex — and it's the part most therapists skip.
Most people start weekly, then space sessions out as they get closer to finishing. You and your therapist decide together in the first session.
EMDR has a distinct beginning and end. You're done when you truly believe something positive about yourself — and you can see it in your reactions, your relationships, and your relaxed body.
We're self-pay and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Our nonprofit sliding scale is on the Rates page.

Traci is smart, funny, caring and runs an excellent group practice. The therapists and staff at Hope For The Journey are professional and knowledgeable about their work and I would definitely refer clients or even loved ones to this practice for their mental health needs.
We're a nonprofit, so cost shouldn't be the reason you wait. Sliding-scale spots with licensed clinicians and supervised residents are part of how we work.
