Young Adult Therapy in Austin & Round Rock (Ages 18–25)

Therapy you book for yourself — for anxiety, depression, anger, and the stuff from growing up that's still running the show.
We see you

Everything's supposed to be starting. So why does it feel like this?

Starting out in life is hard enough. When hard things happened growing up, adding the pressure of being an adult is no joke. You still want to have fun and enjoy being young — and you also know things might actually fall apart if you don't get a handle on this.
We see how hard you've been trying, even if no one else does. We don't want to add another to-do to your list. We want to find out what's really causing you to feel bad and fix it — for good.
Signs it might be time
You have everything going for you and still feel lonely, stressed, or flat
Relationships keep turning controlling or one-sided
You can't picture a positive future for yourself
Perfectionism, or eating and sleep that have gone sideways
Nightmares, or old stuff from growing up that won't stay in the past
None of this means you're broken. It means something needs attention — and it responds to the right help.
What changes

Counseling with a finish line, not a subscription.

If therapy is done right, you leave with tools that keep working for years. We're constantly trying to work ourselves out of a job. People who work with us:

Figure out what's actually holding them back

Anxiety, depression, anger — and where it started.

Learn to manage the feelings, then heal the source

Skills first, then EMDR for the experiences that kick-started them.

Stop repeating the same relationship

Boundaries that hold, and closeness that feels chosen.

Like themselves

Confidence that isn't performance.

Get unstuck at school or work

Focus, follow-through, and a future you can picture.

Know when they're done

A clear plan, a clear finish line, and the tools to stay there.
Weekly sessions are the default. Some people do the same work in a few focused days as an EMDR intensive.
Your questions

The things you'd rather not ask out loud.

Anything we haven't answered? Call 512-400-4790 — you'll talk to Nia, not a phone tree.

We're self-pay, so nothing is billed to insurance unless you choose to submit a superbill yourself. If you're 18 or older, your therapy is confidential — your parents don't get updates unless you sign a release. [CONFIRM wording with Traci]

Your privacy

You're an adult. Your therapy is yours.

If you're 18 or older, you consent to your own treatment and you control who knows about it. We don't call your parents, we don't send updates, and nothing is billed to a family insurance plan unless you choose to submit for reimbursement yourself.
If you want a parent or partner involved, you can sign a release that says exactly what we can share — and you can change your mind later. [DRAFT — Traci/legal to confirm]
Self-pay by default: no insurance record unless you create one
Parents or partners are involved only with your written release
Online sessions from wherever is private for you

Your first call is with a real person.

Nia, our Client Care Coordinator, will listen to what's going on and match you with the right therapist. No phone tree, no pressure, no forms before you've talked to a human.

Traci is smart, funny, caring and runs an excellent group practice. The therapists and staff at Hope For The Journey are professional and knowledgeable about their work and I would definitely refer clients or even loved ones to this practice for their mental health needs.

How it works

Three steps, no runaround.

Intake runs through a real person on purpose.
1

Talk to an actual person

A 20–30 minute call with Nia, our Client Care Coordinator. She'll get to know what's going on and match you with the right therapist.
2

Map out your journey

Your therapist sets a plan with you: steady, paced work focused on safety, skills, and connection.
3

Start healing

As things settle you'll notice real shifts — better sleep, steadier days, more of yourself showing up.
We're a nonprofit, so cost shouldn't be the reason you wait. Sliding-scale spots with licensed clinicians and supervised residents are part of how we work.
